SUPPLEMENTARY  PROGRAM

A broad supplementary program with lectures, theater and music performances is being planned for all exhibition sites. The events/dates were listed here as they became known to us.

Events in Baden-Württemberg :

With the close of the first station of the exhibition at Stuttgart on June 17 the complementary cultural program has also been concluded. The many events in Stuttgart and in other cities in Baden-Württemberg met great public interest.

Events in Braunschweig:

During the exhibition (July 14 - October 14, 2001) the Kulturinstitut (Institute of Culture) of the City of Braunschweig organized a very successful Troia-Festival. Events of performing arts were produced by well known artists in the context of the cultural evaluation of the role of Troia in the past and presence.

Events in Bonn:

Trojan Elegies.
Accompanying Program to the Exhibition.

In January and February 2002 scholarly lectures, literary readings, musical stagings and a historical film treated selected aspects regarding Troy's reality and world of concepts. In cooperation with the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft DFG, a one-day symposium was be held on 'German Archaeology in Foreign Countries - Foreign Cultural Policy and Promotion of Science". The actual dates and contents of all accompanying program events were published in a separate program brochure, which also contains the workshop program for children, youths and adults as well as school classes.

For details of the past events please refer to the organizations responsible at the respective locations or to the German editor of this page (hans.jansen@uni-tuebingen.de)
