The California State University / Baden-Württemberg Student Exchange Program is based on an agreement between the German Federal State of Baden-Württemberg and the California State University System. This arrangement allows students from a wide range of academic backgrounds and disciplines to learn the German language in Germany, experience living in a new culture and pursuing courses in their major area of study.

Through this program, California students are able to enroll in courses at one of the 18 participating Baden-Württemberg institutions. Most CSU majors are offered, some examples include international relations, international business, political science, education studies, engineering, graphic design, as well as, art, liberal studies, linguistics and literature.

The program is coordinated by the Department of International Relations of the University of Tübingen that houses the CSU office, where local staff provide academic support, including academic advisement, student services support, integration into student and social life, and cultural orientation in Germany.
