Courses

• Diploma, PhD....and then? In the Career-Symposium former GKI students talked about their work and daily life experiences. What can we do after graduating? What can we become beside a scientist in research? This workshop shall help to resolve the questions we ask ourself about the future.

• The tools of a Scientist are beside doing a good research in the lab the presentation of the results. In the course "Effective scientific communications 2007" Heather-Silyn Roberts taught us in an excellent course about......How to give a conference-talk? How to make a conference-poster? and How to write a paper?

Excursions

• The graduate college undertakes once a year an excursion to Boehringer Ingelheim's factory in Biberach an der Riss. Here we get a very good insight into the working spectra as well as the process of product research and development from small scale to large scale.

Seminars

• Our students have to give a progress-report about their results once a semester in the weekly PhD GKI seminar. The seminar is official and can be attended by anyone who is interested.

• In the "Scientific Methods" workshop students as well as supervisors gave talks about selected methods that are related to their work.

• In the "Microbiological Colloquium" - a joint seminar between the Medical Microbiology (UKT) and the Microbiogly department (Biology) - foreign speakers show their recent results. This event harmonized very good with the research topics of the GKI.
