Overview

In addition to the PhD-thesis, our graduate students will take part in seminars and courses:

The most important and compulsory course is the weekly PhD-colloquium (seminar list at the end of the page). Students are required to present their ongoing research and to put it up for further discussions. The staff and the tutors will take part as well. The Colloquium takes place during terms at Morgenstelle 28 building E in the seminar room of the, 7th floor. A seminar-list can be viewed here during the semester.

Furthermore, the Microbiological colloquium will take place weekly during terms (Thurs 5 p.m.). International well-established scientists will present their recent work in the wide spectrum of microbiology. In addition to it, there are lectures at the Botanical Institute, the Cellbiological Institute, the Department of Hygiene and the Medical Microbiology Department.

Joint Meeting: GRK685 + GRK1409 at Marburger Haus (Hirschegg)

Doing research in the field of "infectious biology" is not unique in Germany. The research of the graduate school of Muenster "Molecular Interactions of Pathogens with Biotic and Abiotic Surfaces GRK1490/1" goes into a similar direction than that of our graduate school.

To get in contact with each other we met during a Joint-meeting in Hirschegg (Kleinwalsertal) from 17th to 20th of March 2008.

2-day Seminar: "Scientific Methods" - July 23rd and 24th

Ongoing research will be presented in the large context of the methods the participating members are using. The talks will be held on 23./24. July 2007in the seminar-room of the "Max-Planck Haus" (MPI). Participating GKI members will find more details on our internal sites.
