Der britische Autor Blake Morrison eröffnet die Vortragsreihe des Englischen Seminars zum britischen Buchmarkt

Am 3. Mai um 18 Uhr c.t. startet das Englische Seminar seine aktuelle Vortragsreihe "The Literary Market in the UK" mit einem Vortrag des britischen Autors Blake Morrison zum Thema "Reflections on an Era of Transition: Authors, Publishers and the Teaching of Creative Writing".

Blake Morrison wurde in Großbritannien vor allem bekannt durch seine Autobiografie And When Did You Last See Your Father, in der er sich mit der Beziehung zu seinem Vater und dessen Tod auseinandersetzt. 2007 wurde das Buch mit Colin Firth und Jim Broadbent in den Hauptrollen verfilmt. Neben seiner Karriere als Schriftsteller und Dichter lehrt Blake Morrison am Goldsmiths College in London kreatives Schreiben und verbindet in seinem Vortrag diese beiden Tätigkeiten, um in die aktuelle britische Literaturlandschaft einzuführen.

Dieser Beitrag ist der erste in einer Reihe, in der verschiedene Profis der britischen Verlagslandschaft Tübinger Anglistik-Studenten ihren Arbeitsbereich vorstellen. Unter anderem werden ein Londoner Literaturagent, ein Lektor des renommierten Verlagshauses Jonathan Cape und der Herausgeber der London Review of Books nach Tübingen reisen, um einen Einblick in ihre Berufsfelder zu gewähren.

Die Vorträge sind in englischer Sprache und finden jeweils dienstags um 18 Uhr c.t. im Hörsaal 036 im Brechtbau statt.

In the context of the Rotating India Chair Programme of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Professor Aniket Jaaware from the University of Pune will teach and research at the English Seminar and the Department for Media Science of the Eberhard Karls University in the beginning summer term.

The Inaugural Lecture takes place on Monday 18th April at the Neuphilologikum.

In summer term 2011, Professor Aniket Jaaware from Pune University will teach at Tuebingen under the 'Rotating India Chair' scheme of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. Have a look at his courses here.
