Lisa Peter has been working as a lecturer and research fellow since autumn 2009. Her current project - tentatively titled "Embedding Fundamentalism: Strategies of Representation in Contemporary Fiction and Film" - aims at showcasing various ways in which novels, films and TV series have tried to incorporate religious fundamentalism into their secular storyworlds.
Lisa teaches regularly introductory modules in English literature, as well as advanced modules in both literary and cultural studies. In the case of the former, she focuses on contemporary fiction, poetry and drama; in the latter on current cultural developments in the literary market and theatrical culture of Britain. Related to her interest in the production processes of literary fiction, she organised a lecture series in summer 2011 on
The Literary Market in the UK, bringing together writers, publishing professionals and academics from Britain and Germany.

A volume that collects these talks is currently being put together.

Lisa has been assistant editor of the Zeitschrift für Anglistik und Amerikanistik since 2008 and continues to be responsible for the articles section.
