What's New: October 2010

While everything seemed quiet over the last couple of weeks, preparations for the next issue of Connotations, volume 19 - which turned out to be another triple volume - are well advanced. Even if a triple issue, it will mostly consist of responses to previously published articles, proving that there is still, and seemingly an ever increasing, demand for critical debate. The concept of Connotations, which is to inspire and encourage these debates, is alive and kicking.

The Call for Papers for the 11th International Connotations Symposium has just been published. The subject will be "Poetic Economy: Ellipsis and Redundancy in Literature." The conference will again be held at Freudenstadt, this time from July 31 to August 4, 2011.

We are happy to announce that Connotations online has received a grant by the DFG. Over the next three years, this website will undergo a major rework and expansion which will ultimately lead to a complete online archive of all published articles including links to the respective discussions. There will also be a couple of new features like pdf downloads, members area, etc.
