SUSAM is an EU-financed project, carried out by a multilateral and interdisciplinary network of academic institutions and non-governmental organisations from Brazil, Bolivia and the EU.

The superior aim of SUSAM is the development of strategies for sustainable regional development in
Amazonia through interdisciplinary comparison and intensive discussion of current problems
among experts of the Amazon region from research and practice and representatives from
different social groups in Amazonia.
