Prof. Dr. H.C.F. Mansilla, La Paz, Bolivia

• Prof. Dr. H.C.F. Mansilla (born November 1942) is currently visiting professor at the Zurich University. He studied political science and philosophy at German universities. He received the venia legendi from the Berlin Free University in 1976. He is mostly devoted to scientific research in the fields of authoritarian political culture and socio-political problems related to environmental issues. Since 1990, he is investigating socio-cultural causes of forest destruction in the Bolivian Amazon region. He has extensively published on these themes (more than 30 books so far). He carried out many research projects for German and Swiss foundations. In addition, he was admitted to the Bolivian Academy of Sciences in March 2000.
