H.E.S.S. Prize awarded to Daniel Gottschall

The H.E.S.S. collaboration grants twice a year a prize to a younger collaborator who has distinguished him/herself for exceptional contributions to the H.E.S.S. Observatory. The Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics is a longstanding member of the H.E.S.S. collaboration and has contributed extensively to the construction, operation, maintenance and data analysis of the experiment. The Autumn Prize was awarded this year to our colleague Daniel Gottschall, especially for his restless work on the mirror system and for the very successful summer campaign during which all mirror of the CT3 Telescope were changed. The Prize was officially announced at the H.E.S.S. collaboration meeting being held in Erlangen at the beginning of October.

We wish to warmly congratulate Daniel for his achievement and for this important recognition.
