Research Program: Empirical Educational Research
- How well are students prepared for their future careers?
- How can the potential of modern media environments be fully exploited for learning?
- What are the social foundations of learning and how can they be incorporated into institutionalized and non-institutionalized learning?
- How can teaching quality and achievement levels be improved?
- What are the characteristics of the most effective learning environments?
- How important are motivation and self-regulation for (academic) success in the short term and across the life course?
- What kind of research needs to be conducted to successfully answer these questions?
The Research Program on Empirical Educational Research in Tübingen tries to answer these and many other questions. Researchers from several institutions participate.
The manifold research activities in Empirical Educational Research at the University of Tübingen are integrated into a collaborative research endeavor. Synergies of researchers from different institutions are capitalized on in research, teaching and mentoring.
Findings in Empirical Educational Research are of high relevance for political, scientific and societal decisions. Accordingly, research activities in Tübingen evoke manifold reactions (c.f. Events, Honors and Press reactions).
