Public lecture by Senator Hasan Abu Nimah: Former Jordanian Ambassador speaks at University of Tübingen

The geopolitical map of the Middle East has changed since the uprisings of 2011. May countries, including Syria, Libya, and Yemen, are experiencing civil war, political turbulence and the collapse of the civil order.

The retired ambassador for Jordan, His Excellency Senator Hasan Abu Nimah, is to speak on the current situation at the University of Tübingen: His lecture, Changing Political Maps ‒ The Situation in the Middle East and the Arab World Today discusses the challenges and opportunities for the Middle East. He will speak on the role of Saudia Arabia, Iran, the United States and Russia, as well as looking at Jordan’s position and potential amid the conflicts. The public and the media are invited to attend the event on Monday, 23 April, at 6pm in Alte Aula (Münzgasse 22). Admission is free; there is no need to register. The lecture and subsequent discussion will be in English.

H.E. Senate Hasan Abu Nimah is a political commentator for the International Relations Committee of the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. During his long diplomatic career, he held positions in Rome and Brussels and was his country’s ambassador to the United Nations. He was director of the Royal Institute for Interfaith Studies in Amman and an adviser to Prince El Hassan bin Talal.
