Along with research, teaching is one of the university’s core tasks. The challenge is to awaken not only interest, but also enthusiasm for the material. The University of Tübingen aims to give comprehensive support to its teachers - with advanced training, advice, and information, as well as concrete assistance.
Center for Teaching and Learning
As part of the Study Successfully in Tübingen (ESIT) program the University offers advice and workshops for all teaching staff. The program includes special services for professors, mid-level academics and postdocs, doctoral candidates, student tutors, and for those teaching in English.
Advice, training, and equipment for digital teaching Topics include the academic information platforms ILIAS and Moodle, the production and use of video, audio, and images as well as e-didactics.
Student Counseling Service
The Student Counseling Service provides advices and workshops for subject counselors and other teaching staff.
Degree Planning and Development
Information and advice for planning and developing new degree programs and for further developing existing ones.
Didactics of Medicine
The Competence Center for University Teaching in Medicine Baden-Württemberg prepares tutors for their teaching work in medical degree programs.
Various services to assist those dealing with students on a daily basis.

The University of Tübingen awards its annual Teaching Prize to staff members who come up with particularly sustainable teaching ideas which benefit students.
Teaching academic writing
The University Writing Center offers teaching staff advice on how to guide and support students through the processes of academic writing. The Writing Center also holds workshops on this topic for teaching staff.
