Dear Colleagues,

I want to devote the 2002 international school on nuclear physics in Erice to the topic ``Quarks in Hadrons and Nuclei''. It seems to me a very timely subject for the Erice School on Nuclear Physics in 2002. I am sending you a preliminary program of the school and the first questionnaire. If you have colleagues or collaborators who are interested to participate in the school, please, just copy the first questionnaire and give it to them.

I naturally hope that you can participate. Please, indicate on the first questionnaire if you want to have further information, or if you already know that you are participating or if you even want to give a seminar.

The fee for food and lodging for the time from September 16th till September 24th is 800 EURO. The European Physical Society makes a few fellowships available, which go mostly to young scientists form Eastern European countries. To receive such a fellowship you must apply before February 15th, 2002 to:
