The problem of Demographic Change represents one the major topics in recent German politics, (spatial) planning and societal attention. Though there's an almost vigorous discussion and intensive research to be stated, a significant uncertainty in planning and politics about how to treat this topic in an appropriate way must be stated. Another aspect is the lack of attention towards the spatial local and regional level of the problem. Not all regions within Germany will show similar consequences due to Demographic Change. Hence various, locally adapted concepts are needed.
