Animation 3: Roll pendulum

The suspension point K1 of a plane pendulum slides frictionless along the x-axis. The pendulum body has the distance L from the suspension point. Both bodies have the same mass m1=m2=m and the connection between K1 and K2 is massless.

The period is derived symbolically, the equations of motion are solved numerically. The movement of the pendulum body, the suspension point and the connection between them are displayed in the plane x-y . Further details can be found in Chap04_3 .
