Franziska Krauße-Wang studied Chinese and German Literature at the University of Leipzig, the University of Tübingen and the Furen University in Taiwan. After her studies she taught German as DAAD language assistant at the Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China. She completed a certificate as intercultural trainer at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and is especially interested in the role of intercultural competence when learning and teaching in another (academic) culture. Prior to the IES program, she worked in DAAD programs promoting the integration of international students at the University of Tübingen.

Academic Coordinator, Lecturer
Jan Henning Ullrich is the IES academic coordinator, researcher and lecturer at Tübingen University’s Institute of Political Science and International and European Studies program, and doctoral candidate at the University of Tübingen. He studied political science and sociology at the University of Tübingen and at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA. He worked as a post-graduate researcher at the Berlin Graduate School of Social Sciences (BGSS) at Humboldt University, Berlin, and was a visiting scholar at Duke University, USA, and at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, USA. His main area of interest is the European Union and its decision-making process, with a focus on interest group politics and patterns of political participation.

Program Assistant (on parental leave)
Janina Ehret completed her professional education at Technical University of Darmstadt, where she worked in the administration for several years. In the IES program she is mainly responsible for the application process and the finances. In her free time she enjoys reading, travelling (favorite place so far was Bali) as well as spending time outdoors with her dog.

Denise Neubauer studied Spanish and French at the University of Göttingen, including two semesters abroad at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina and the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour, France. After her B.A., she worked in the international department of a Spanish NGO in Seville before being Assistant to the Sales Director of International Activities in a family business in the Swabian Alb.
The contact to foreign countries, cultures and languages has always been of great interest to her in both, her personal and professional life.
Denise replaces Janina Ehret during her parental leave, being now responsible for the application process, the finances and for organizational support within the IES programs.

Miriam Keppner is a Program Manager in the IES program, being particularly responsible for the Buddy Program and the Social Media accounts. She did her B.A. in French and Political Science at the University of Regensburg and the Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour in France. After her B.A. she did her Masters in "Democracy and Governance in Europe" at the University of Tübingen and the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Besides being part of the IES team, Miriam is a doctoral candidate at the Institute of Political Science. Her main research interests are the European Union, global environmental politics and the role of cities in international politics.

Marlene Hofmann is a Program Manager in the IES Program. She is mainly in charge of the alumni program and the Social Media accounts as well as the extension of corporate contacts. Having completed her B.A. and M.A. in Cultural Anthropology in Tübingen she already spent several years working at the University. Currently, she is also responsible for the international affairs of the Faculty of Humanities in Tübingen, where she holds her second occupation.

Franziska Weiler has always been interested in languages and international cooperation. She completed her professional education at the Europe Institute in Reutlingen, where she studied Multilingual Management. English, Spanish, Chinese and economics were her main focus. In the IES program she is mainly responsible for the reservation and organization of the rooms and host families. In her free time she likes to sing, write songs, dance, travel and read.
