Cancelling of mass gathering events

In this section, it is determined during what time mass gathering events are cancelled and how this affects the contacts among adults.

Range of days determines the period of days during which mass events are cancelled.
Contact reduction by [%] gives the factor by which contacts between adults (i.e. working adults and elderly) are reduced. This intervention only affects adults with asymptomatic infection or moderate disease. Severely sick adults are taken care of at home or are hospitalized.

Parameter settings

We are not aware of published results for Contact reduction by [%]. As this parameter also strongly depends on the population which is modelled, the pre-set values may not adequately reflect reality.

Cross-references

This intervention changes the contact rates given in the contact matrix.
As this intervention only affects adults with asymptomatic infection or moderate disease, it relates to the course and duration of disease and to the disease-specific contagiousness.
