"Virtual-reality-based knowledge management and knowledge marketing in archaeology" The aim of the project is to support archaelogists in managing, presenting, and utilizing the results of their work with the help of new technology. Hard- and software components for presentation and information systems have been developed. Two archaeological applications were created: Troy ("TroiaVR"), ancient Eypt ("Virtual Nile Valley"). Project duration: 2 years (2001 2003). The project has been supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research ("Competition on Virtual and Augmented Reality"). Total budget: Euro 1.999.000. Almost half of this sum consists of own investments by project partners from the industry. The Troia Project at the University of Tübingen received Euro 224.000.
