The European Centre for Research on Federalism is a research institute at the University of Tuebingen. It is a multidisciplinary institution that deals, scientifically and politically advising, with questions of federalism, the position and role of regions and the subnational level in Europe.

The ECEF accompanies the process of European integration and the resulting question of the future structure of Europe since 1993. Since then we explore the tendencies of regionalisation and federalisation in Europe in numerous publications, on scientific conferences and through international research projects.
