CIVIS micro-programs "Civic Engagement" in Good Practice Database of the German Rector’s Conference

The MODUS project of the HRK (German Rector’s Conference) aims to further improve recognition and crediting practices at universities and, in this context, is including our international program for the promotion of civic competencies and innovative teaching formats in its Good Practice Database.

The CIVIS micro-program "Civic Engagement" pursues three main objectives: the creation of an international offer for students of the CIVIS Alliance, the promotion of civic competencies and the realization of the universities' third mission.

Four universities are cooperating to implement the program, which has an agreed framework of 15 ECTS credits and a compulsory and elective structure. Around 50 students from various subjects and degrees take part each semester. The teaching and learning formats are developed by teachers and civil society actors. The promotion of civil society skills is confirmed by evaluations and testimonials.
