Judy Lee has been a research associate at the Chair of Greater China Studies since October 2022. She studied Politics and Law at the University of Hong Kong and Hispanic and Latin American Studies at the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain.

Having participated in translation and editing work related to Sino-US relations, Chinese history, Hong Kong colonial history, Hong Kong’s external relations, policy research and constitutional reform in Hong Kong and produced an M.A. project analysing political contents of Argentine tango lyrics, her field of interest is diverse and multidisciplinary.

Her research focuses on Hong Kong politics, language and culture. She is also involved in book projects on Hong Kong history, religions, pop culture and social movements. Her most recent work is the Traditional Chinese translation of the memoir of Chris Patten, the last British Governor of Hong Kong, published in Taipei in 2023.
