Welcome UT English Department Alums
Whether you have recently completed your B.A. or M.A. studies, defended your dissertation, worked at the department, conducted research and/ or have taught here and are now setting off on a new journey: Stay in touch! We invite you, dear recent graduates, former students, researchers, lecturers, and members of staff to join the University of Tübingen alums network and become a part of the department’s alums community!

Stay Engaged
There many ways of staying engaged with the English Department and your alma mater.
- Share your knowledge will fellow alums and current students as a speaker in an alums event.
- Deliver careers advice to current students and share your professional experiences in online talks. Have you completed your PhD and have transitioned to a job outside of academia? Share your experiences in the online series "Let's Talk About Careers" organized by the University's Graduate Academy. Example of previous session.
- Invite alums to your workplace and show them what you do and how your studies helped you get where you are now.
- Start an alums chapter in your region to socialize and network with fellow alums.
- Organize a one-off alums event and help UT English department alums to reconnect.
- Start your own alums book club online or face-to-face and create a space for lively debates and discussions.
- Start a fundraising scheme to fund a Deutschlandstipendium for a student studying at the English Department and meet them at the official Deutschlandstipendium ceremony held at Castle Hohentübingen once a year. Find more information on funding a Deutschlandstipendium here.
