Switching and regulating with visible light

Nano-particle-networks and 2D-materials like transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers offer interesting semiconducting properties and show absorbtion of visible light. Thus making them ideal candidates for new types of opto-electronic components working only on specific wavelength to introduce switching or regulating  e.g. in “light effect transistors”.

For further miniaturization this devices can be coupled with resonant optical antenna structures to enhance absorption and increase signal levels of structures at nanoscale dimensions.
