CMEPS Field Trip to Bonn and Brussels

Exciting news from our CMEPS program!

Last week, our new cohort had the opportunity to embark on a field trip to Bonn and Brussels. From November 28th to December 2nd, our students explored various national, European, and international institutions and NGOs, gaining practical insights into the realities of working as graduates of political science. They engaged in discussions with key representatives and experts, delved into topical discussions, and got firsthand insights into recruitment criteria from potential future employers.

The trip included visits to noteworthy organizations such as the European Commission’s Emergency Response Coordination Center (ERCC), the International Crisis Group (ICG), the  European Endowment for Democracy (EED), as well as the European External Action Service (EEAS). We extend our gratitude to Dr. Udo Bullmann, Chair of the European Parliament’s Subcommittee on Human Rights, for sharing his expertise and taking time to talk to our students. Students also met, among others, with representatives of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), as well as our dear colleagues Dr. Markus Loewe and Dr. Tina Zintl of the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS).

This field trip would not have been possible without the generous financial support of Universitätsbund Tübingen e.V.! We are sincerely thankful for their support and highly recommend them as a partner in facilitating projects that are central in creating invaluable chances and experiences for our students.
