Research

The Environmental Toxicology group’s key objective is to understand the causative processes leading to adverse effects by micropollutants, their mixtures and transformation products and to translate these findings into predictive models for hazard and risk assessment.

The research topics focus on

• Cellular toxicity pathways: Mechanistic understanding of the underlying principles governing the adverse effect of chemicals on humans, wildlife and ecosystems
• Bridging human health and environmental risk assessment
• Evaluation of mixtures of chemicals, unknowns, transformation products and complex environmental samples
• Sampling, dosing and understanding the dynamics of chemicals
