Colleague on extended research stay in New York

In spring this year, our member Sonja Borchers went on a research stay for three months (March – May) at the Columbia University, New York. As a visiting scholar, she had several advising sessions with Katharina Volk (Columbia) and David Konstan (NYU). Furthermore, she attended a graduate seminar on Lucretius taught by Darcy Krasne (Columbia) and the guest lectures by Jon Hesk (University of St Andrews, Dublin), Gábor Betegh (Christ’s College, University of Cambridge), and Walter Scheidel (Stanford). The conference Cicero in Context held at Columbia University on April 28 in honor of Prof. James E. J. Zetzel was a special event that Sonja feels lucky to have been able to attend.
