T-IES Buddy Program

What is the T-IES Buddy Program?

To support you during your stay in Tübingen and to promote an intercultural exchange we have set up a Buddy Program in which a student of the University of Tübingen teams up with a T-IES participant. The Buddy Program will allow you to get to know Tübingen student life first-hand and to make friends.

How will the buddy teams be matched?

The T-IES team matches the buddy teams according to their interests, their foreign language skills as well as their field of study.

What are the tasks for your buddy?

Prior to your arrival, your buddy will contact you by email. You can ask her/him anything you would like to know to prepare your stay in Tübingen. On your arrival day your buddy will pick you up at Tübingen train or bus station and bring you to the registration office and accompany you to your accommodation. During the program it is up to you and your buddy when and how often you meet.

Your stay in Germany and Europe is limited in time and we understand that you might want to travel at the weekends. Nevertheless, your buddy would be very happy to spend time with you to get to know you and your culture better. So we recommend you to meet at least twice a week. Depending on your interests and your schedule, you can decide what kind of activities you would like to do together. Your buddy will introduce you to student life in Tübingen and together you can also take part in events offered by the T-IES Program. Please don’t hesitate to ask if anything is unclear or if you have any difficulties. We will help you and make your T-IES Program stay in Germany as comfortable as possible.
