SmartConf - Technologies for scalable and high-quality surround sound systems teleconferencing SmartConf-Logo

The goal of this project is to develop a marketable “3D Spatial Audio Teleconferencing Engine“. This engine improves considerably the efficiency of a telephone conference. Participants can be localized acoustically and can hence be distinguished by their position. Moreover, every single participant remains understandable even if several persons speak at the same time. In this context, the prime scientific work goals consist in guaranteeing the scalability of such a system for thousands of users at the same time and for hundreds of simultaneous conferences.

Based on this work, a company selling the “3D Spatial Audio Teleconferencing Engine“ shall be founded.
