TSB Lecture (online 19.03): Sisyphean democracies - Some reflections from Latin America

The next online seminar from the program Tübingen Science Bridge – Latin America (Humanities) will take place on March 19st at 16:00 pm MEZ (CDMX: 9:00; Havana and Bogota: 10:00; Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Santiago and Buenos Aires: 12:00) and this year will focus on the topic "Democracy in Dialogue: Latin American Experiences".
The lecture has the participation of Dr. Ana Grondona, University of Buenos Aires. She will put on the agenda the theme: “Sisyphean democracies - Some reflections from Latin America”.
The program, an initiative of the Baden-Württemberg Center for Brazil and Latin America at the Universität Tübingen, aims to contribute to the internationalization of science and research. Scientists from several partner institutions will present their latest research data, promoting an integrated and constructive environment for scientific interaction and contributing global knowledge. The lectures of the Tübingen Science Bridge are aimed at professors and scientific researchers, graduate students, as well as a more the general audience.
The online seminar will be held in English on the ZOOM platform in order to allow discussion and interaction.

Lecture Briefing and the Speaker:
The presentation will begin with a brief characterization of some of the determinants of the history of democracies in the region, analyzed in the light of the contributions of the Italian-Argentinean sociologist Gino Germani. On this basis, we will identify some questions that the Latin American experience poses for the perspectives of post-democracy.
Ana Grondona is a Sociologist and PhD in Social Studies from the University of Buenos Aires, where she also works as a Professor and Researcher. She coordinates the Gino Germani Archive, to whose perspective on modernization and democratization she has dedicated several projects. She has also worked on various Latin American perspectives on development, dependence and marginality. Among her most relevant publications are "Gino Germani: Transition, Paradoxes, Substitutions and Heterogeneities," "Development Styles and Good Living" and "Development and Dependence from Latin America: Problems, Debates and Concepts" (with Andres Tzeiman).

Este ano, o foco será o tópico "Democracy in Dialogue: Latin American Experiences".
A palestra terá a participação da Dr. Ana Grondona, Universidade de Buenos Aires. Em pauta estará o tema “Sisyphean democracies - Some reflections from Latin America”.
O programa, uma iniciativa do Centro Brasileiro e Latino-Americano de Baden-Württemberg da Universidade de Tübingen, tem como foco a internacionalização da ciência e da pesquisa. Cientistas de diversas instituições parceiras apresentam seus últimos dados de pesquisa, promovendo um ambiente integrado e construtivo da ciência e, ainda, disseminando o conhecimento global.
As palestras on-line do Tübingen Science Bridge são destinadas a professores e pesquisadores científicos, alunos de pós-graduação, como também para o público em geral. Os webinars acontecem em inglês na plataforma ZOOM para permitir a discussão e interação.

Das nächste Online-Seminar im Rahmen des Programms Tübingen Science Bridge – Latin America (Humanities) wird am 19 März um 16:00 pm MEZ stattfinden. In diesem Jahr geht es um das Thema "Democracy in Dialogue: Latin American Experiences".
Der Vortrag wird von Dr. Ana Grondona, University of Buenos Aires gehalten. Das Thema des Vortrags lautet “Sisyphean democracies - Some reflections from Latin America”.
Das Programm ist eine Initiative des Baden-Württembergischen Brasilien- und Lateinamerika-Zentrum. Das Ziel gilt es um einen Beitrag zur Internationalisierung von Wissenschaft und Forschung leisten. Hochkarätige Wissenschaftler:innen der verschiedenen Partnerinstitutionen präsentieren ihre neuesten Forschungsergebnisse und tragen damit zu einer gemeinsamen und konstruktiven Basis für die wissenschaftliche Zusammenarbeit bei.
Die Vorträge der Tübingen Science Bridge richten sich besonders an Hochschullehrer:innen und (Nachwuchs-)Wissenschaftler:innen, sowie an ein allgemeines wissenschaftlich interessiertes Publikum. Die Veranstaltungen finden auf Englisch über die Plattform ZOOM statt, um eine Diskussion und Interaktion zu ermöglichen.

La charla contará con la participación de la Dr. Ana Grondona, Universidad de Buenos Aires. Ella presentará la conferencia con el título: “Sisyphean democracies - Some reflections from Latin America”.
El programa es una iniciativa del Centro para Brasil y Latinoamérica de Baden-Württemberg de la Universidad de Tübingen que pretende contribuir a la internacionalización de la ciencia y la investigación. Científicos de varias instituciones asociadas presentarán sus investigaciones más recientes, promoviendo un entorno integrado y constructivo para la interacción científica y contribuyendo al conocimiento global.
Las conferencias del Tübingen Science Bridge están dirigidas a profesores e investigadores científicos, estudiantes de postgrado, así como a un público más general.
