Emeritus Professor Dr. jur. Hans-Jürgen Kerner;

Emeritus Professor Dr. jur. Hans-Jürgen Kerner is Senior Professor of Criminology, juvenile criminal law, penitentiary law and criminal procedure law at Tübingen University. He has held professorships at the Universities of Bielefeld, Heidelberg, Hamburg and Tübingen. Inter alia, he was a justice of the Hanseatic State Supreme Court, a member of the Council of Europe’s European Committee on Crime Problems in Strasbourg; and national correspondent of the United Nations in the fields of Criminal Justice and Crime Prevention. He worked as a visiting fellow at the Universities of Southamp-ton, Peking (Beida), Melbourne, Philadelphia and Cambridge

Ass. jur. Philipp Karnowski,
Junior Supervisor

Philipp Karnowski studied law at the University of Tübingen. After passing the second state examination he started working at the Institute of Criminology at the University of Tübingen. He is the main coordinator of a DFG-funded research project. The focus of his research is on criminal procedure law, the laws governing the application of national criminal law on extraterritorial criminal offenses, and the comparison of laws.
