Adaptive Behavior in
Anticipatory Learning Systems 2002
(ABiALS 2002)

was held on the
11th of August, 2002
in association with the conference
Simulation of Adaptive Behavior 2002
in Edinburgh, Scotland

ABiALS 2002 was a first interdisciplinary gathering of people interested in how anticipations can guide behavior and learning. The question was addressed which different anticipatory influences can be distinguished. Several approaches to anticipations in adaptive behavior systems were introduced. First analyses were put forward of when and how anticipations can be useful for the development of higher behavioral competence.
